Of course, Santa Barbara gets all the attention, but Goleta is truly a hidden gem of Santa Barbara County. Visitors generally bypass Goleta except to access Santa Barbara via "Goleta's" airport, and parents of UCSB students ramble the clogged arteries of the "Student Island" of Isla Vista, only to return to the picturesque Santa Barbara Downtown and Waterfront.
That's all generally fine with Goleta residents!
Living in the "Goodland" offers some of the best public schools in the County, scenic beaches, mountain trails, easily accessible food and entertainment, Camino Real Marketplace, and some great public parks. Goleta is also home to Deckers Corporation, Raytheon, Appfolio, Citrix and FLIR - just to name a few . . . And of course, Goleta is the gateway to some of the last undeveloped California Coast (Gaviota), a ten minute drive from Santa Barbara, and 40 minutes from the Santa Ynez Valley.
